The Town of Whiteland is responsible for the inspection, investigation and reporting of code violations of certain provisions of the Town’s Municipal Code, which regulates a wide variety of subjects in an effort to maintain a civil society and a community of the highest quality.
If you are concerned about a possible violation of the Whiteland nuisance code, please let us know.
Common types of nuisance violations may include:
- Tall grass and weeds
- Trash accumulation
- Excessive storage of material, debris, etc.
- Continual garage sales
- Structures being constructed without a permit (such as fences and mini-barns)
- Abandoned or dilapidated structures
Violations of subdivision covenants are not enforced by the Town, unless they also violate a town ordinance. Covenant restrictions must be enforced by the property owners themselves.

Information regarding the Town of Whiteland Code of Ordinances and enforcement:
To report a violation, you must set up an initial account with GeoPermits, via your email. Once you click the link below, you will select State: INDIANA, and Jurisdiction: Town of Whiteland, Indiana. You then will click “SIGNUP” in the upper right corner. Follow the instructions to complete the registration form and account verification to register your account.
To report a violation, click on “start application” under Code Enforcement Violations. You then will enter the property address and complaint. If you’d like to leave your name, you will be contacted once complaint is addressed, but it isn’t required.
Once the account is registered, you will be able to report a violation, apply for permits, or any other services the Town offers. You will also be able to review your account to track completed applications and permits, and any other transaction made through the system.
