The Whiteland Town Council passed a water rate increase on the 9th day of June, 2008. This is Phase l of a 2 phase rate increase. The average percent of increase for each phase is about 12.5%. The increase in the water rate for Phase l will be realized on the July/2008 payable August 2008 bill. The second phase water rate increase will be 1 year later, in 2009. The town's water is purchased exclusively from Indiana-American Water Company. The Town Council also adopted a water "tracker". The "tracker" is for the automatic increases in the water base rate when Indiana-American Water Company has an increase to Whiteland Water Works.  Click here to see Ordinance 08-4, the Whiteland Water Rate increase Ordnance.
