The Department of Planning and Zoning regularly inspects properties around town for compliance with the zoning and nuisance codes. If you are concerned about a possible violation of the Whiteland nuisance code, please let us know.
Common types of nuisance violations include:
-Tall grass and weeds
-Trash accumulation
-Excessive storage of material, debris, etc.
-Continual garage sales
-Structures being constructed without a permit (such as fences and mini-barns)
-Abandoned or dilapidated structures
Violations of subdivision covenants are not enforced by the Town, unless they also violate a town ordinance. Covenant restrictions must be enforced by the property owners themselves.
You may let the Zoning office know about your concerns by calling the Zoning department at (317) 535-5531, stopping by Town Hall, or using the contact form below. You do not need to give your name.
Please note that complaints about noise, stray animals, improperly parked vehicles, and all suspicious activities should be directed to the Police Department at (317) 535-8100.
